The Honourable Marshall Rothstein served as Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada from 2006 to 2015. A native of Winnipeg, Mr. Rothstein attended the University of Manitoba (B.Com., LL.B.) before entering private practice with Thorvaldson, Eggertson, Saunders and Mauro (now Aikins MacAulay and Thorvaldson LLP). For nearly three decades, Mr. Rothstein developed his reputation as one the country’s leading counsel in numerous high-profile domestic and cross-border cases.
Mr. Rothstein was appointed to the Trial Division of the Federal Court of Canada in 1992, and was elevated to the Federal Court of Appeal in 1999. In 2005, he served as a member of a NAFTA Extraordinary Challenge panel involving softwood lumber.
