John Siwiec is Partner at Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP. His practice focuses on commercial disputes, including in international arbitration and intellectual property. He has extensive experience as arbitrator and counsel in ICC, LCIA, ICDR, and ICDR Canada arbitrations related to construction projects, shareholders agreements, franchise agreements, and the sale of goods and services. John is a former President of YCAP (Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners), and has been recognized by Global Arbitration Review (GAR) as a Future Leader in Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration. 

John Siwiec is Partner at Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP with expertise in commercial disputes, including in international arbitration, commercial litigation, and intellectual property. He has served as the President of Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners (YCAP) and has been recognized by Global Arbitration Review (GAR) as a Future Leader in Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration 218, 2019 and 2020 – a guide to the world’s leading arbitrators.  

John has extensive experience as arbitrator and counsel in ICC, LCIA, ICDR, and other institutional arbitrations in addition to ad hoc proceedings. John’s practice focuses on disputes arising from construction projects, shareholders agreements, franchise agreements, and the sale of goods and services as well as in the recognition and enforcement of international arbitration awards. He has appeared before all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal. 

John taught a course on international arbitration at the University of Ottawa’s Law Faculty, is a lecturer as part of the faculty’s cannabis law course, and served as a research assistant to the United Nations International Law Commission (ILC).
